I spent 10 years working in record shops.
This was my life…
“Have you got that track?”
“You know the one. It’s by that guy who sounds like girl…”
“Or that girl who sounds like a guy.”
“It’s kind of pop/classical/funk/ambient/retro/jazz/thrash/ska/reggae . “
“I heard it on the radio this morning but couldn’t be bothered to write down the track name or the artist or even the radio station I heard it on.”
“It has the word Love in the lyrics (but it may have been Lump) but it’s really famous…”
“Come on you must know the one I’m talking about.”
“It kinda goes… Bom La La Da Da Dum Bada Bada Bom!”
I swear to the almighty if I ever hear that again I’ll be up on charges within the hour.
If this sounds all too familiar just stay strong and remember that someday the world will be ours as numpties like this will surely starve to death one day when there’s no one around to tell them how to make a pot noodle.
